About the Rosewoods

Hello. We're Margaret & James Rosewood

For over 40 years, we’ve been handcrafting leather bags in our quiet countryside workshop. What started as a weekend project just one satchel made by hand slowly became a lifelong craft.

We’ve always believed that a well-made bag should last for decades, and that quality shows in the details: the stitching, the cut, the feel of full-grain leather. No shortcuts. No mass production. Just care, skill, and time.

How It All Began

We didn’t set out to build a brand. We simply loved working with our hands and creating something that would be used, carried, and appreciated every day.

Word spread, and over the years our small shop grew into a community of people who valued tradition and craftsmanship. Each bag we made went out with our signature and a quiet pride in what we’d built.

What This Has Meant to Us

This work has always been about more than leather and tools. It’s been about creating something real and lasting and knowing it’s gone on to be part of other people’s lives, from commutes to travels, gifts to milestones.

That’s what’s kept us going for four decades. And that’s what we’ll always carry with us.

We’ve reached a time in our lives where it feels right to slow down. With no one in the family to carry on the craft, we’re closing the workshop and offering our final collection of handmade bags.

These are the last pieces we’ll ever make. When they’re gone, they’re gone for good.

Thank you for being part of the journey.
